It was the Merc - 6 cylinder 3 liter diesel engine sold for exactly one year here in US America - the turbo and trap oxidizer failed on most of them around 70K - Mercedes admitted the design was flawed and ponied up the money to make the engine right. Strange though - was on the highway, suddenly the power is halved, maybe more, and it feels like limp-home mode. Limped to the dealer, and they gave me a loaded Camry as a loaner.
